VoxFeminae is Croatia’s leading independent feminist–cultural online journal, active since 2005 and widely recognised as one of the central platforms of its kind in the region. The journal publishes essays, analyses, interviews and reviews, with a strong focus on hybrid essayistic writing that blends theory, cultural critique and personal experience. This approach positions VoxFeminae between mainstream media and academic discourse, making complex themes accessible while maintaining analytical depth.
VoxFeminae covers a wide range of topics across culture, popular culture and social justice — from literature, film, performance and the arts to media phenomena, gender politics and everyday cultural practices. Its editorial lens foregrounds feminist and queer perspectives, rethinking dominant narratives and offering nuanced interpretations of both mainstream and marginal cultural trends.
Alongside the journal, the Vox Feminae Festival has been held in Zagreb since 2006, connecting art, activism and feminist thought through an international, transdisciplinary program dedicated to women’s and queer creative practices.
